Module 8 Assignment
- The type of website I’m building is a business site (technology solutions), and the purpose of it is to provide services and products that will assist users with overcoming technical challenges.
- The theme that I believe would work best for my site is the Astra theme. A site must be responsive at all costs, as the quickest way to lose traffic and interest in a site is to have it respond poorly. The Astra theme appears to be extremely lightweight (requires less than 50 kb of resources to work), while still offering deep customization and flexibility. If that theme fails to produce desired results, then I’d like to use the Neve theme as it appears to have enhanced SEO functionality in addition to being responsive.
- My primary plugin is going to be Amelia plugin as it is one of the highest rated booking/scheduling plugins. Since my business’s main revenue driver is providing services (in-house or remote), booking appointments is critical. This plugin looks to have all the bells and whistles that I need to have a top-tier booking platform on my site.
- Future functionality I would like to learn in an advanced website creation class is some of the more advanced customization options. Websites I’ve been impressed with are elegant, know exactly where to put items of interest so they’re naturally found by the eye, have impressive motion effects or java functionality built in to provide an aesthetically pleasing experience, and are responsive to navigate through. I feel like what I have created over this course is a good foundation to build upon. In an advanced class, I’d like to do exactly that; build upon the foundation I have created.
